Always remember hanging out with Vinny at Waverly and Main when he was a rookie officer and how impressed I was with him as a person. Later I got to know him even better when I taught his daughter BettiLou at Torey J. Sabatini School. Madison has lost a great leader and role model.

Joanne and Betty - So very sorry for your loss. Vinnie was among the best colleagues.
My first memory of Vinnie was when he was one of my students at CCM. I was still on the Chatham Borough PD part time having served there as a police officer/detective before moving to CCM as law enforcement degree program coordinator. We actually bumped into each other on duty occasionally on King's Road.
Early on, it was apparent Vinnie was going to rise to the top at Madison PD. Our paths seldom crossed after I made my move to Byram leaving CCM in 1971. Through the years, I followed as Madison changed chiefs Upon my retirement in 1993, I continued to attend State Chiefs Meetings running into "Chief" Vinnie after 2004 and occasionally at 200 Club events.
Vinnie was always pleasant.
Hand Salute!
Rest in Peace Chief Vincent Chirico.
Chief Eskil "Skip" Danielson, Byram Twp. PD (ret.)

They say time heals all wounds. Love heals all wounds, not time. I pray our God, the God of the greatest love, heals your broken hearts. I am so very sorry. Suzie

Vince's badge number is 61 and mine is 62. We went to Madison High School together, County College of Morris together, we were Detectives together, played softball and basketball together... we even nailed the sub flooring on his home together and the list goes on.
I know Vince Chirico. He was a solid, down to earth man who was grounded in, what I would call, American values. He loved his family, he loved Madison and he loved his country. He made a difference in the world and will be missed.
