I was a good friend of son Kirk and lived across the street from the Schoephoester family during my high school and college years. Kirk and I are the same age. I spent many hours in their home with him, especially watching their color TV when hardly anyone had color TV's in those days. I remember Mary as always being very gracious and welcoming, and she always had snacks for us. My parents also thoroughly enjoyed Mary and Bill's company and their great neighborhood parties. Kirk's tales of his exciting earlier years in California are probably one reason why I ended up moving there in the late 1970's, where I eventually raised a family and we all still reside there in Orange County.

I was a great friend of her daughter Kim. I heard this news from Helen Gates who lived in Cromwell Hills also. Helen and my mom Toni Enenbach were all friends with Mary. A warm and endearing family. Thinking of those times makes me very happy. They are some of the best family home memories I can think of. Bless our whole family Kim!

Mary Schoephoester and I met when we moved to Cromwell Hills, in Convent Station, NJ in 1964. We loved the friends in the neighborhood of 200 homes and especially enjoyed the Cromwell Pool and the many parties throughout the year. Mary always had a beautiful tan. I recall Mary and Bill's kids so well - Kirk, Kim, and Randy. I admired Kim's pretty bedroom once and Mary said, "We fixed it up suitable for a princess and she always kept it like that!"
Mary and I made trips to New York City together to attend the theater. Now, I live in California, and over the last ten or so years we have frequently spoken on the phone.
She brought me joy when she expressed glee at receiving my Christmas card and letter last year. It made me realize that it was worth the effort.
I loved this dear friend and will miss her greatly, especially her wonderful attitude and joyful laugh!
