I knew Tom since 1966. He led the Dartmouth Alumni Club that awarded me their first scolarship and we kept in touch ever since. Tom was a great friend and role model and we continued to share good times and alumni club scholarship activities up to his passing. He was gentle, kind and sharp right to the end and never lost his active love and support for the college. We have lost one of the great "Sons of Dartmouth".

One of my parents oldest and dearest friends, was someone I always looked forward to talking to at RSC or at a social event. He supported so many people including my mother after my fathers passing as well as through the difficult times with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Allen . My mother and Tommy knew each other from St. Andrews church when it was still in Orange , NJ as the story goes since nursery school.
I can hear your fathers/ grandfathers voice as well as your mothers as they were frequently at our home in So. Orange.
He was nothing less then a loyal friend and a wonderful soul. He made me happy to resemble my mother and was always there with a smile.
I hope they are all together again.

I met Tom Swartz about 20 years ago, through a fellow Dartmouth College/ Army/ and Amos Tuck classmate of his- Harry Sarkisian, also from Short Hills. They were both active members of the Dartmouth Club of Suburban NJ. They both shared many wonderful stories of life, in the US Army and on campus in Hanover, NH. They were both very appreciative of their education on the GI Bill.
In 2010, after Harrys' passing, Tom and I became neighbors in, Chatham, NJ. Tom would walk around the neighborhood and always had a smile on his face. I felt so very fortunate to have him as a friend. I shall look through my photographs..
I myself, have many fond memories, of time spent with Tom. Hugs and condolences to all the family.

So very sorry to hear the news of the passing of "The Chief". He was a great friend, a wonderful storyteller, and always reminded me to appreciate the good things in life. He loved his family and friends, and always had a smile on his face. I always looked forward to our visits, and I loved how much he enjoyed seeing my children when they could join us.
It was an honor to know Tom, and I will miss my friend very much. Sincere condolences to all the Swartz family.
