Obituary of Philip Picillo

A Delightful Son

Philip Francis Picillo, a lifelong Madison resident, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2018 at his home. He was 55.

The third of nine children, Phil was born with Downs Syndrome. Phil was known for always smiling and for his loving hugs and kisses. His family will fondly remember his competitive spirit at thumb wrestling, his long swims at the Madison pool, and his passion for music, including playing the piano. A graduate from Madison High School system, Phil worked over 20 years at the ARC program. He led an active life, highlighted by various walk-a-thons and several awards through the Special Olympics. Phil had a great sense of humor and enjoyed playing pranks on his brothers and sisters. He will be missed for his unconditional love and the positive feelings one would enjoy whenever in his company. For that, his family will be forever grateful to him.

Phil is predeceased by his father, Bud, and is survived by his mother, Joan; siblings, Kurt (Becky) of Sacramento, CA; Natalee (Scott) of Bridgewater; Mark of Madison; Gregg (Eileen) of Amesbury, MA; Ross (Christine) of Simpsonville, SC; Kelli of Throop, PA; Budd of Kona, HI; Gail of Wilmington, NC; and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at St. Vincent Martyr RC Church, 26 Green Village Road, Madison. Interment will follow at St. Vincent’s Cemetery, Madison. Funeral arrangements by Madison Memorial Home.
