Obituary of George P. Cuva
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of George Paul Cuva, of Madison, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at Sunrise of Madison. He was 73.
George is survived by his daughter, Katherine Cuva; two sisters, Dorothy Polk and Debbie Ann Childress; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.
Born in Newark to the late Paul and Dorothy Cuva, George was raised in Florham Park alongside his two sisters, Dorothy and Debbie. He was a graduate of Hanover Park High School.
George was a devoted father to his daughter, Katherine, and his love for her was a cornerstone of his life. His kindness and genuine nature made him a cherished friend to many. George’s warmth was felt in the laughter and conversations he shared over coffee with his friends, always bringing joy and humor to those around him.
For many years, George drove a Peterbilt truck. He thrived on the open road and enjoyed the independence that came with his work.
An enthusiast of antique cars and motorcycles, George found joy in restoring vehicles, most recently working on a 350 Z and a Harley Davidson. His passion for these projects was just a reflection of his adventurous spirit.
George also had a notable affection for dogs, always carrying treats for his four-legged friends. It was a running joke among his friends that he had a unique talent for making every dog “fat” with his generous offerings.
George will be profoundly missed by his daughter, family and countless friends. His good heart and the countless acts of kindness he performed will always be remembered.
