For over 30 years, Don Boegler was an exceptional and indispensable ambassador for The Montclair Golf Club. His bright smile and amiable personality brought joy and comfort to members and guests alike as they crossed the threshold to The Club. Through his sweet temperament and positive disposition he created a very proper and pleasurable perception that everyone was entering their home away from home. His magnetic charm conveyed the important and accurate message that The Montclair Golf Club was a good place to be. We were always open for business according to Don. He often quipped, “we may doze, but we never close!” Don had a fantastic sense of humor that everyone appreciated. He was certainly proud to be a part of The Montclair Golf Club managerial team, but as important, we recognized that Don was an integral component of the organization. He brought much positive insight and imagination to the table during his long tenure at The Club and we appreciate all of his contributions. We communicated with Don and he with us each year since we retired to Tucson, AZ. in 2003. Lynda’s creative cards and phone calls back and forth kept our friendship alive until late last year when our correspondence went unanswered. Our worst fears were realized when we received The Montclair Golf Club’s memorial notification. It was a sad day. Don Boegler was a good person and highly respected. I had the pleasure of knowing Don Borgler Mr B for over 22 years at MGC he was truly a good man. He loved being around people, loved his family deeply, and had a strong love for God. Don always treated others with kindness and respect and was a positive influence to everyone who knew him.Anyone who’s been around Mr Boegler has to be at least once at Lun Wah a Chinese restaurant in Roselle where he likes to spend time with friends and family His warm personality, sense of humor, and caring heart will be remembered by many. My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time. He will be deeply missed. RIP Don.

My heartfelt condolences to the Boegler family. I had the pleasure of working with Don in the early 1990’s at Montclair Gulf Club. It was a great experience and still lives me after all these years. He was a jovial gentleman to say the least. In Don’s memory I have to ask who will now carry on his tradition of purchasing and driving a white Toyota Carolla? Rest in peace my friend!

I had the honor and privilege of working with Don Boegler for over 22 years. He had a giant heart — full of gratitude, warmth, respect, and unwavering faith. He was the best teacher, someone who guided me every single day in doing work I didn't yet know how to do. As the years passed, through conversations and shared ideas, we were able to bring so many projects to life together: movie nights for children, Fourth of July celebrations, weddings, Christmas events, Anniversary Balls, Monsters Dinner, and so many more... always with one goal in mind: making an unforgettable day for our members. On a personal level, for me, he was like a father figure as well as a friend. I received from him warmth and affection toward my children, my husband, and more recently, my grandchildren. The trips to Atlantic City, where he would dance with us to Elvis Presley songs. The moments in the hallways of the Club when he would tell a joke just to lift our spirits and turn an ordinary day into a great one. Decorating his office with Christmas figurines and miniatures — something he absolutely loved — and laughing at the funny flyers the members would send him. He never once showed anger or frustration toward his employees. Instead, we received only guidance, delivered with love, and the unwavering belief that each one of us was capable of giving our very best. We never stopped calling to check on him. And his last request to me was simple and sweet — that I make him one more wreath to decorate his front door for Thanksgiving. It was always the little things that made him happiest. The memories are countless, but every single one is precious. I will miss him deeply, and I will never forget what he meant to me and to my family.

Don and I served on the board of the New Jersey Club Managers Association for several years and became good friends. He was always upbeat and had a joke to tell. More recently Charlie Kelly, Noel Coad and I have been getting together with our wives and would call Don. He sounded the same and wished he could join us. Rest in Peace Don. Linda and I will miss you!

Don and I worked together at Montclair Golf Club for 30 years. He was one of my closest friends (best man at my wedding). We had many good times together on the golf course and having dinner together. He was always upbeat and I don't think I ever remember him being angry! He loved Lun Wah Chinese restaurant and having dinner with his "cronies from MGC". He was never at a loss for a "Don joke". He was a man of strong faith and loved his Family above all. Who can forget the many "Don-isms" like "we dose, but we never close". I will miss speaking with him on the phone. Love you Don and will miss you very much. RIP

I had the privilege of working with Don in the early 1990’s at Montclair Golf Club. He was a joy to work with. Always a positive outlook on everything he did. I am sad to hear of his passing.
