Obituary of Gail Rodriguez
Gail Rodriguez, a longtime resident of Whippany, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 4, 2026 surrounded by her loving family after a courageous and resilient battle with cancer.
Gail lived a life filled with love, laughter, and an unshakable spirit. She is survived by her devoted husband, Louis Orlando Rodriguez; her daughters, Kathleen St. John and Karin Sainato and her husband David; her stepdaughters, Juliette Rodriguez and Jessica Rodriguez; her grandchildren, Shane, Robert, Rachelle, Joseph, Nick, Jasmin & Jada; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who cherished her deeply. Gail also leaves behind her devoted Shih Tzu and best friend, Cocoa, whom she loved beyond measure.
In addition to her parents, the late Edward and Ida Winthrop, Gail was predeceased by one daughter, Kimberly Cicarelli; and two sisters, Joyce Winthrop and Nancy Mangan.
Gail’s life was defined by her devotion to others. Whether helping families find their footing as a local realtor in her younger years or providing compassionate care to seniors at Time-Out in Madison, she approached every chapter of her career with a servant’s heart.
She found joy in the simple pleasures of life —- sharing dinner and good wine with family and friends and traveling to places that brought her happiness and connection.
Her grace, humor, and strength were ever-present, especially throughout her battle with cancer, during which she exemplified true resilience and courage.
She will be remembered for her warmth, her laughter, and her ability to make everyone feel special. Her legacy of love and strength will live on in all who knew and loved her.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a visitation for Gail to be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2026 at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison. A funeral service led by Fr. Owen B. Moran will be held at 5:30 p.m. during the visitation.
Entombment will be held privately for the family
In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be made in Gail’s memory to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
