My heart is heavy with the loss of my beloved friend – we shared excitement and challenges in our early pioneering days at Bell, labs, and remained kindred spirits throughout these many years. Mr Shepherd, The neighbor who knew me literally my entire life and called me son. You did so much in your 84 years a PhD in chemical engineering and numerous patents at Bell labs to name a few things. You were a mentor to many and all my friends. We chatted weekly, and you never minced words. You were so wise and honestly hilarious. I am happy you are up there, reunited with Evelyn and Steven, but your absence has been hard for us down here. I wish I could ask you for more advice and share more laughs. Thank you for everything, we were all lucky to have known you. Until we meet again, rest easy, love you Pop. Peter Motzenbecker
