Obituary of Brian T. Baker

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brian Thomas Baker, 41, of Florham Park, New Jersey; a cherished husband, devoted father, loving son-in-law, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, friend, and dedicated member of the community who passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 15, 2025.

Brian is survived by his beloved wife, Jaclyn Baker; his two sons, Nicholas and Owen Baker; his brothers, Michael and Christopher Baker, and his wife, Elizabeth; his sister, Michelle Baker, and her husband, Frankie Almonte; his father and mother-in-law, Michael and Sharon DeAngelis; his brother-in-law, Michael DeAngelis, and his wife, Kristina; aunts and uncles; nephews; and many dear friends and colleagues.

Born on October 25, 1984, Brian grew up in Pompton Lakes, New Jersey, alongside his three siblings. After graduating from Pompton Lakes High School, he pursued his passion for justice and service at William Paterson University, earning a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.

Brian’s unwavering commitment to protecting others led him to a fulfilling career in law enforcement. He began with the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office before joining the Livingston Police Department. He proudly served for a total of 20 years as a police officer. Known for his integrity, strong moral compass, and dependable nature, Brian earned the deep respect and camaraderie of his fellow officers.

Above all, Brian was a loving and devoted husband to Jaclyn. Their story began in 2008, and from the very start, it was clear they were meant to be. Married in 2013, they shared a bond built on laughter, partnership, and unconditional love, a true team in every sense. Together they built a beautiful life in Florham Park for their two beloved sons, Nicholas and Owen. His family was his world. He devoted his time not only to his profession but also to creating a loving home; working tirelessly on their dream house and showcasing his talents in carpentry, technology, and home improvement.

He cherished time spent with his boys; drawing at the table, playing cards or board games, or heading outside for sports and laughter. Those everyday moments were where Brian’s love and joy shone brightest.

Outside of work and family, Brian lived life fully. With over 25 years in soccer, he advanced to a semi-professional referee, traveling across New Jersey and beyond. He was a loyal New York Giants and Yankees fan and loved sharing that passion with family and friends. Summers down the shore in Ocean Beach 3 were a special joy, filled with unforgettable memories. Brian was also a proud and talented family winemaker, crafting award-winning wines that brought people together.

Brian lived a life grounded in faith, service, community, and kindness, always believing that we are called to help one another. His legacy of love, loyalty, and generosity will live on in all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Brian will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends. May he rest in peace.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to pay their respects during a visitation on Thursday, November 20, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison, NJ.

A Mass of Catholic Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Church, 1 Lloyd Avenue, Florham Park, followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
