Karen Skouras, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025 in West Orange, New Jersey, at the age of 83.
Born on August 2, 1942 in Denmark to loving parents who instilled in her a deep sense of family and resilience, Karen grew up in Denmark and moved to the United States after graduating from college. She carried with her the warmth, humor and strong work ethic that would define her life.
Shortly after arriving in the United States Karen met the love of her life, John Skouras, at a bowling alley in Brooklyn. The two quickly formed a bond built on laughter, shared dreams and mutual admiration. After their marriage, they settled in Westchester, New York where they raised their two sons and built a life filled with love, family gatherings and joy.
Karen had a long and accomplished career as an accountant, later serving as a Revenue Officer for the Internal Revenue Service for 20 years. She was admired by her colleagues for her intelligence, diligence and professionalism.
Outside of her work Karen was known for her vibrant spirit and sense of humor. She loved spending time with her family, playing cards, sharing good meals and great stories, and enjoying a fine glass of wine, of which she was a true connoisseur. Her pancakes were legendary among family and friends, a symbol of her generosity and love.
Karen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Skouras, and all of her siblings.
She is survived by her loving sons, Spiro Skouras and his wife Lauren, and Konstantino Skouras; her adored grandchildren, Alex, Amanda and Nicole; and many cherished nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will forever remember her laughter, warmth and wit.
Karen will be remembered for her strength, her humor and the love she shared so freely—a life well lived, and a heart deeply loved.
