Obituary of JoEllen Falco

JoEllen Falco (Puco), 76, of Succasunna, N.J., died peacefully on August 29th surrounded by the love of her family. JoEllen’s warmth, personality, and irreplaceable presence will be forever missed.

A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, JoEllen was born in Morristown, NJ on May 24, 1949, to Gloria A. (Drake) and Frank A. Puco of Netcong, N.J. She was the oldest sister of four girls in a close-knit family and had a special bond with her grandparents: Jennie Puco, and Madeline and William Drake Sr. as well as her many cousins, aunts and uncles. As a child, she attended St. Michael’s Catholic School, and she went on to graduate from high school with honors in 1967. JoEllen then attended Mountainside School of Nursing and graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1970. She proceeded to have an extensive and rewarding career in the medical field.

Beyond her fulfilling career, JoEllen’s legacy lies in her role within her family. In 1970, JoEllen married Alphonse Neil Falco, Jr. In 1972, they welcomed a son, Alphonse Neil III, and in 1977, Jessica Ann. JoEllen’s bright smile, incomparable warm hugs, and sage guidance cannot be replaced, but will always be a part of the family she leaves behind. She was preceded in death by her mother and father. She is survived by her son Alphonse and his children, Alphonse Nicolas, Ava and Frank and their mother Lauren, her daughter Jessica, son-in-law Jason and their daughter Ella Jaye. JoEllen is also survived by her three sisters: Linda (Scott), Sandra (John), and Francine (Lenny); three nieces Alexandra, Kate, and Sophia; four great-nieces, and one great-nephew.

A celebration of JoEllen’s life will be held on Tuesday, September 2nd at St. Vincent Martyr Church in Madison, NJ at 10:00am.

Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
