In Memory of Rick Hill I am deeply saddened by the passing of my dear friend Rick Hill. Rick and I were classmates at Bernard’s High School in Bernardsville, New Jersey, during the 1964–1965 school year, when I was a foreign exchange student from Colombia. In that time, he became my closest friend—warm, genuine, and full of kindness. I will always cherish the memories of our afternoons playing pool at his house and the easy laughter we shared. Rick welcomed me, a newcomer from another country, with an open heart and made me feel at home. His sincere friendship left a lasting mark on my life. I remember Rick standing on the stage at Bernard’s High singing “Till There Was You” to Meryl Streep and thinking to myself how talented he was. I had gone to school with Rick and knew he was in the band, but I never realized he had a great singing voice. Many years later I looked around my work cafeteria (Johnson & Johnson) and there was Rick! At least 25 years had passed, but we talked like it was only a few days since we had seen each other. A wonderful kid, strong man and caring soul. Rest in peace my friend.
