Obituary of Patrick J. Esposito
Patrick J. Esposito, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at the age of 72.
He leaves behind his beloved children Patrick Esposito, Carlyn Heller and her husband, Doug, and Jessica Esposito and her fiancée, Melissa; two cherished granddaughters Avery and Rylee Heller; two treasured sisters Carol Anne and Nancy Jean Esposito; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Patrick was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Esposito.
Born in Morristown on September 16, 1952, to the late Joseph and Nancy Esposito (née Mantone), Patrick was a proud long-time resident of Madison. A gifted athlete from a young age, he excelled in wrestling, football, and baseball throughout his youth. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Cincinnati, but his greatest accomplishments were always rooted in family and community. He began his career as a salesperson for CBS Records before taking over his father’s construction business which he operated until his retirement.
Patrick had a deep love for the outdoors, spending many days fishing, hunting, and water skiing on summer trips to Lake Hopatcong and Vermont. He loved music and was often heard listening to classic rock.
A devoted family man, Patrick’s greatest joy came from cheering on his grandchildren at all of their sporting events. His dedication to youth sports extended beyond his own family, as he coached wrestling, baseball, and flag football in Madison for many years, leaving a lasting impact on generations of young athletes.
Patrick will be remembered for his strength, his warmth, and his unwavering commitment to those he loved. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched, and his family will continue to carry forward his passion, perseverance, and heart.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Patrick on Monday, July 28, 2025, at 9:30 AM at St. Vincent Martyr Church, 26 Green Village Road, Madison.
In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be made in Patrick’s memory to the Ted Monica Scholarship Fund. Checks should be made to Madison High School and the Ted Monica Scholarship Fund written in the check memo, then mailed to: Madison High School, 170 Ridgedale Avenue, Madison, NJ 07940.
