My dear Kathleen, I struggled to write this because I know no words could ever do justice to your memory, but here it is. You were one of the most quietly extraordinary people I've known. Beautiful, smart, articulate, and deeply artistic, you had a mind that was always observing, always turning things over with care. You were thoughtful in the truest sense. Nothing about you was rushed or careless. Your words, your style, the way you moved through life; it all reflected clear intention and grace. You had an understated elegance that was simply part of who you were. There was a natural stillness about you that made others feel at ease, a quiet presence that elevated any room. You were deeply sensitive and absorbed the world around you, yet you never let that become distance or judgment. Your kindness was constant; you went out of your way to be gentle, to make people feel noticed and welcomed. I think of those small details: your notebook of favorite restaurants, your apartment on 63rd Street that you so carefully renovated. Everything you touched reflected your thoughtful nature. You never needed to be the loudest in the room. Your presence spoke volumes. I will miss you, I will miss your perspective, I will miss our conversations, and late-night texts, among so many other things. Your absence leaves a space that feels impossible to fill, but I'm so grateful I got to know you and call you my friend. Rest peacefully, my friend. My heartfelt condolences to Kathleen's family, friends, and all of us who are grieving this tremendous loss. With Love, Gus

Im so sorry to hear of Kathleen's passing. I just spoke with her strong and kind hearted sister Trish, and I'm so grateful. I have no words to match the shock and sadness of this news. I love you Kathleen and Ill miss you the rest of my days. I know you are with God and I know that I will get to see you agsin.

You were beautiful & fragile like precious china & so sensitive ... you shined your light on so many to bring them joy simply by your caring and recognition. Your values & heart were always in the right place. Sleep in peace. We will meet again someday. In the meantime, please be our guiding angel as we need your help down here. All my deepest love to you and yours, the Mulhern family, who I hope to meet one day as I have heard all about you for years. I was stuck in Mexico so could not get back but am with you in spirit.

I told everyone I knew… No offense, but Kathleen IS the nicest person I’ve ever met in my entire life. Our friendship started when I moved in across the hall from her in NYC and bumped into her with her sister Tricia one weekend morning… after we all chatted for a little bit… they invited me to join them at Java Girl for a coffee. I’ve been told soooo many times from Kathleen… sister said to her “if I were you a pursue that friendship”. That was the best thing for both of us!!!! Thank you Tricia! As our friendship strengthened over 18 years, we were there for each other in all our ups and downs… We used to call ourselves “roommates with separate apartments” because we lived literally right across the hall from each other… Any day or night we could call or text each other and then meet for coffee with her dog and my cats even at 4 AM if someone needed the other. When I started my own business in 2011, our friendship got even stronger because then we would just get together in the morning and both work on our own businesses… Leveraging each others strength, smiles, laughs, and opinions :-) And then the two became the four of us Golden Girls: Kathleen, Natalia, Karen, and I saying we will all grow old together… And be there for each other just like the Golden Girls. And Kathleen was unmistakably Rose. Her most recent ex-boyfriend took offense when I said she was Rose. But he didn’t get who Rose IS. Rose was the SWEETEST person in the room. Rose always saw the good in EVERYONE. Rose loved dogs and ALL animals. Rose was the PRETTIEST. Rose was always looking to help OTHERS. I have no idea what the world is going to be like without Kathleen. But we all will be thinking about her beautiful giggle, her beautiful smile, her beautiful soul and her love. I love you, Kathleen, and will miss you terribly. Karyn (aka Sophia)
