Obituary of Ricardo B. Henriquez
Ricardo Basilio Henriquez-Sisnett, a longtime resident of Madison, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 27, 2025. He was 84 years old.
He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Myrtle Henriquez (née Welch); one son, Ricardo Henriquez II; one daughter, Gina Henriquez; two cherished grandsons Amir Henriquez and Ezekiel Guy; three brothers Rodolfo Henriquez, Roberto Henriquez and Carlos Henriquez; three sisters Veronica Henriquez-Gordon, Felicia Henriquez and Angela Henriquez; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rodolfo Henriquez and Victoria Sisnett, and his sister Claudette Henriquez-Jones.
Born on August 28, 1940 in Panama City, Republic of Panama, Ricardo spent his early years there before emigrating to the United States in the 1960s. He proudly served in the US Army, where he gained valuable life experience and was honorably discharged.
Ricardo met the love of his life, Myrtle, while working together in New York. They began their married life together in Brooklyn before later settling in Madison, NJ.
Known for his curious mind and love of learning, Ricardo had a knack for taking things apart -- especially electronics – just to see how they worked. A homebody by nature, he found joy in simple pleasures: watching television and comedies, taking long walks or bike rides around town, and pursuing his passion for photography through classes and club participation. In his younger days, he relished weekly movie outings and summer trips to the beach.
Though his family will miss him deeply, they are comforted be the memories they shared and the knowledge that he is now at peace.
A memorial visitation for Ricardo will be held from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Sunday, June 22, 2025, at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison.
