Obituary of Jheran Denis
Jheran Denis, whose resilience, wisdom, and love touched so many lives. His passing on April 16, 2025, in Odenton, Maryland, peacefully in his sleep, leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of those who knew him. Yet, his spirit continues to inspire us.
Jheran’s story began on January 10, 1977, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, where he was born at Haiti Clinic on a serene Monday morning. He was the cherished son of Marie Jeannette Denis and Ernest Lubin, who nurtured him with unconditional love and care. Even as a child, Jheran exhibited a quiet and sweet nature that endeared him to everyone around him. In 1982, his journey took a transformative turn when his mother, Jeannette, made the brave decision to relocate to America with young Jheran, settling in Brooklyn, New York.
During his time in Brooklyn, Jheran focused on his early education, which laid the foundation for a remarkable future. A proud alumnus of Sheepshead Bay High School, his thirst for knowledge and passion for technology led him to pursue higher education at New York City College of Technology, where he earned both his associate and bachelor’s degrees. Later, he achieved two master’s degrees one in Information Technology and the other in Business Administration at the University of Maryland.
Jheran’s career began in the banking industry with EAB Bank, but after college, he transitioned to the field of information technology. Starting out on the helpdesk, he quickly developed a passion for cybersecurity. Following the adage that you never work a day if you are doing something you love, he immersed himself in study and practice, becoming a respected expert in the field. As a Senior Cyber Security Engineer, he specialized in areas such as computer forensics, threat hunting, penetration testing, vulnerability management, and governance, risk, and compliance (GRC). His intellectual curiosity and dedication made him a leader and innovator in his profession.
At the age of 24, Jheran demonstrated his courage and patriotism by joining the United States Air Force. He served for eight years, earning the rank of sergeant before being honorably discharged. His service to his country was a testament to his integrity and resilience.
While his professional journey was extraordinary, Jheran’s deepest fulfillment came from his relationship with God. He was a man of strong faith, devoted to nurturing his spirituality and building a meaningful connection with his Creator. He found guidance and purpose through his beliefs, turning to prayer for strength and wisdom. His faith shaped his character, influencing the way he loved, served, and supported others. He embraced life with grace, never losing sight of God’s presence in his journey.
Fate brought Jheran and his soulmate, Juliana, together during a chance meeting at Kings Plaza Mall in Brooklyn. This serendipitous reunion rekindled memories of their high school days and blossomed into a love story filled with devotion. They married on July 30, 2006, and built a loving home in Easton, Pennsylvania. Their family grew with the birth of their cherished son, Jacob Jheran Denis, on May 16, 2013. Jheran embraced his roles as husband and father wholeheartedly, showering his family with love, devotion, and unforgettable moments.
Jheran was devoted to his family. He cherished his roles as a husband and father, showering his loved ones with unwavering support, kindness, and generosity. He was committed to breaking the cycle of poverty, determined to build generational wealth for his family so that his son, Jacob, and the generations that followed would have security and opportunity. He worked tirelessly to ensure his family’s future was strong, leaving behind a legacy of financial stability, wisdom, and love.
Jheran’s legacy extends far beyond his professional accomplishments. He was a true friend, a thoughtful mentor, and a source of inspiration to all who knew him. His laughter and wisdom enriched the lives he touched, leaving an indelible mark.
As we bid farewell to Jheran today, we do not say goodbye but rather thank you. Thank you for your laughter, your love, your wisdom, and the unforgettable memories.
