BARNABE & LUIZA RODRIGUES posted a condolence
Sunday, April 6, 2025
Our sincere condolences to Judith, David, Alwyn, Stephanie, Sebstian, Deja & Alexander.
We first met Anslem & Rayna in E.Africa- Mombasa and then in Nairobi and eventually in New York.
They were both very generous & hospitable. When Barnabe first arrived in New York they were the first people he contacted and they very kindly accomodated him while he looked for a job.
Anslem and Rayna were instrumental in reaching out to all Goans in New York and New Jersey. We continued our friendship and always celebrated our Catholic feasts with each other and the Goan community.
May her soul rest in peace.

Rayna was a wonderful cook and welcomed us for a home cooked meal whenever I was in the USA. She was so thoughtful in preparing dishes I enjoyed.
I loved listening to Anslem's stories from all over the world while Rayna put the finishing touches to her well laid out dining table.
Rayna was very creative and I enjoyed looking at her art. She was a talented lady who was a perfect match to intelligent Anslem.
Rayna you will be missed and will always be in my prayers.
My condolences to Judy, Alwyn and their families.
Dorothy Mathias

Aunty Rayna was a perfectionist, a relentless taskmaster and somebody who just got any job done. She was industrious at church, home and work. Her home was spotless.
I have known her from her days in Nairobi, Kenya before she became a true globetrotter and finally settled in Madison, NJ. She always had a fiercely competitive spirit and was a great cook and hostess.
She was U Anselm's dream partner. Her social graces and culinary skills (in his words) propelled him up the corporate ladder.
It was a pleasure visiting her in 2013, soon after U. Anselm passed on. The few days I was with her ,she made it a point to take me to morning Mass. She had a deep faith in God's providence.
I am deeply saddened by her passing on and offer my heartfelt condolences to Judith, David, Sebastian as well as Alwyn, Stephanie, Deja and Alexander. May they and all her nephews and nieces find God's strength to bear the loss of a wonderful Mother and Grandmother.
May A.Rayna's soul RIP united now with her beloved husband U Anselm. Till we meet again, on that distant shore.
