John was always one of the smartest kids in the room, but he never wanted you to know it. If he wasn’t cracking a joke, he was doing something silly to make anyone around him laugh. John and I reconnected briefly a few years ago when I was going through a difficult time in my life, and he was nothing but kind and empathetic - it is a conversation that still means a lot to me all these years later. I pray for all of his family & friends during this difficult time.

John had such a passion for what he did no matter what it was. I can still hear him racking the slide of his staccato to show a customer his new trigger job. Another one of the greats gone too soon. God bless you brother till we meet again

I swear this kid could do anything he set his mind to. We would chat just about everyday about life, guns, matches, whatever. His passion for whatever his current focus was, was unmatched. I’m not sure what the right words are anytime in passing. But I will cherish the memories and the love John shown for myself and my family in the short time we had together in this life. John worked at gun shop I went to often. We struck an almost immediate friendship and got along great! I miss his ever present smile and his knowledge of his craft was impressive to say the least. I met John working at the Range. I had just begun my journey into Gunsmithing and he mentioned his experience and interest in doing the same. We spent some time talking about Gunsmithing school and John casually said let’s sign up… so we did. We spent the next year getting to know each other and pushing each other through school. I quickly acknowledged John’s mechanical mind far exceeded mine and began deferring to him. His positivity and energy drinks fueled us through the day constantly laughing and learning. He will be remembered as “one of the good ones”. Fair winds and following seas John. Until we meet again
