Mrs. Robinson was my first harp teacher, who guided me into the hallowed halls of harp playing. I never imagined that our mutual companionship on this musical journey would come to such an abrupt end. Touching my harp, I feel a painful ache in my heart. I know that music will forever accompany Mrs. Robinson, and I will always remember her teachings and encouragement.

I’ll miss Beth a lot. I was privileged to be one of her friends and one of her fans. She was wonderful, smart, beautiful, good- natured, and multi-talented. At Chautauqua Institution for many summers, I watched/heard her perform with the Symphony. At the Chautauqua Institution for many summers, she and I played party bridge together. My condolences to her fabulous family!

I had the tremendous joy and honor of performing with Beth in many recitals, concerts, and on our CD « The Enchantment of Flute and Harp » for over 40 years. My memories are filled with Beth’s lustrous tone, mellifluous phrasing, and compelling interpretations. One highlight was performing in Finney Chapel at Oberlin Conservatory along with 25 other harpists in a Memorial Concert honoring the legendary harpist Lucy Lewis.
Beth’s generosity, sensitivity, kindness, relentless encouragement, and boundless energy added to our deepening friendship over the decades. My heart goes out to Lee, Ronni, Sydney, Mike, Sylvia, and all of her family and friends at this devastating time.
Since Beth and I shared a love of Japanese food and culture, I wrote a Haiku as my tribute:
Enchanting, sublime
A cascade of glissandos
Ethereal: Beth

When I think of Beth, I remember her warmth and generosity. Her daughter Sydney was my college roommate freshman year at Emerson College in the dorms and later in our apartment in Brookline. We became close friends, so I had the pleasure of seeing Beth often throughout the years. Beth was pragmatic and always ready with ideas to solve problems. She bought me a shoe rack after seeing all my shoes scattered about near my bed, and it prevented a lot of tripping on all of our parts. We walked together in the Boston Common one afternoon while waiting to see a production Sydney was working on in the theater. Beth listened and gave me sound advice about being at a crossroads of adulthood and not knowing what to do. She was also incredibly beautiful, elegant, and refined. She taught me what cayenne pepper was and that soup could be a breakfast food. She treated a bunch of us to a delicious dinner at a Chinese restaurant our sophomore year and let us keep all the leftovers because we were in the thick of final exams and didn't have time to shop. She made me feel seen and appreciated. She was a dedicated musician and mother, and I know she had a profound impact on so many people. I am so grateful to have known her, and send my love to her family.

I am terribly saddened to learn of Beth's passing. She and I were good friends a long time ago but had only occasional contact in recent years. In 1979 and 1980 we performed on a tour of Sweeney Todd that took us to Washington DC's Kennedy Center, as well as Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. In each city we stayed a long time and did fascinating things together. We called one another "Harpo" and "Heifetz" and still used those names throughout our friendship. She took her little dog Tanya with her on the tour, and later she was overjoyed when she met Lee and had her daughter, Sydney. We'd both gone to Oberlin Conservatory, and had both loved it, though at slightly different times. In recent years we found out that we shared a love of Zumba, among other things. We loved to meet at Kodama in Manhattan for sushi until it closed down. She was generous and encouraging. When I'd put on weight she would say, "It looks good on you, Heifetz." She was so very smart and an absolutely great harpist. I will never forget her.

As her roommate at Oberlin, we shared wonderful experiences and grew as young women and musicians. I’m very fortunate to have known her for most of my life.
