I know her absence is as huge as was her presence, a little firecracker! Mrs. Roberto taught me how to garden and make homemade pasta. She came to my new house to give me advice on how to set up my garden. She gave me a fig tree, which I killed. For several years she gave me tiny tomato seedlings, which she started herself and were the pride of my garden. She loved my daughter and was so warm and kind to her. I'll never forget her and give my deepest condolences to her very loved family. For many years, they were like family to me, too. It's her turn to rest now, she's earned it. Love you all!

My mother Fernanda (Franca) Cangiano was born ten days before Fausta, and together they lived their childhood, adolescence and youth.Due to particular family connections, Fausta has always called her "Zia (aunt) Franca" and never failed to stop by to greet her whenever she came to Italy. My mother often talks about Fausta, as she used to in the past, even though now her memories blur the past and the present, and she continues to keep Fausta alive among us.
I also have a sweet memory of Fausta. When I was 17 (I'm 62 now), she hosted me for a few days at her home in Madison and started calling me affectionately "IL MIO NO " (MINE NO), because my answers to her questions about food to eat were often no, a name she continued to use in the following years. The peculiar thing is that my name is Benny, just like her beloved "Benny".
I've always admired her pragmatic energy.
CIAO FAUSTA
"IL TUO NO" Benny
An embrace to Maria Antonietta and her family

I grew up on South Street and lived two houses away from the Roberto’s. Michael was my childhood friend. Like My Grandparents Mrs Roberto was a fixture and truly the last Oldtimer that was left on South Street! You had the best Green Apples on the street and I frequently filled my pockets. Marie Antonette and Family I’m So Sorry for Your Loss. She will be missed!

My Mom, Arlene Kennedy, was one of several from St. Vincent's parish that brought communion to Fausta on Fridays. My Mom would always share the sweet stories to me that Fausta would shared with her. May she rest in peace with Benny.
God bless,
Karen
