Obituary of Carolyn M. Campbell
Carolyn Marr Campbell, a lifelong Madison resident, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, February 13, 2025. She was 95.
Carolyn is survived by her two daughters, Catherine Paetzell and her husband Dr. Roger Paetzell & Carolyn Krickus and her husband, John Krickus; two sons, James Andrew Campbell & David Campbell; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several extended family members.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn is predeceased by her beloved husband of 65 vears, Dr. James B. Campbell, DDS in 2021; her brother, George R. Marr, Jr. and his wife Wilma, and her sister-in-law, Martha Carroll.
Carolyn was born in Queens, NY to the late George and Bertha Marr, and moved to Madison when she was a junior in high school. Carolyn lived on Greenwood Avenue. Much later she met her future husband, James, when he moved in directly across the street from her on Greenwood Avenue.
Carolyn went to secretarial school and worked in several offices over the years. When she and James started their family she became a full-time mother.
Carolyn loved her family dearly and she enjoyed cooking for everyone, especially during the holidays. She took very good care of her home and was not afraid to paint walls and tackle other home projects. Carolyn was also skilled at sewing, knitting and crocheting.
Carolyn had a heart of gold and would help anyone in need. She volunteered a great deal of her time at Overlook Hospital in Summit
Carolyn will be deeply missed by her family.
Funeral services for Carolyn will be held privately for her family.
