As a child I attended my uncle James and aunt Carolyn’s wedding. She was a beautiful bride next to her handsome husband. The wedding was so nice and so was the reception. Afterwards , they were ready to leave in their car painted Honeymoon and cans tied to the fender.
However, someone had taken all four tires off and left the car on blocks. My uncle turned red faced but aunt Carolyn was sweet and calm.
When we visited them in Madison, Carolyn was a gracious hostess. She baked the best New Jersey blueberry pies. Yummy.
We would get together from year to year meeting in West Virginia. It was fun and I learned about our family history.
We would picnic at Coopers State Park and enjoy reminiscing. She always shared from her tasty foods.
Both aunt Carolyn and uncle James will be missed but we have sweet memories of them to hold.
Martha Guillaume
