Donald Stephen Gulbicki, a longtime resident of Morris Plains and Madison, passed away suddenly on Sunday, December 25, 2022. He was 69 years old and will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Donald is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Karen Elizabeth (née Cooper); one son, Matthew Gulbicki and his partner Rachael Frazier; two daughters, Sandra Gulbicki and her partner Christian Smolin and Susan Malone and her husband Tim; his four cherished grandchildren, Logan and Maya Gulbicki and Cooper and Elizabeth “Lizzy” Malone. Donald is also survived by his sister Mary “Mitzie” Libretti and her husband Gennaro “Gerry”; his sister Rita Hand and her husband Ed; his step-sister Teri Bianco and her husband Pat; his sister-in-law Susan Andersen; his nieces and nephews: Stephen and Tim Gulbicki; Christina Beecroft; Anna Clark; Maria Duffy; Gina Glancy; Lisa Montgomery; Andrea Libretti; Donna Cooke; Nina Petitt; Debbie Adkins; Tricia Lalor; Steven Hand; Lisa Artigliere; James Hand; Michael Bianco; Laura Collins; Bryan, Laura and Kelley Andersen; Sarah Gregory; and his many, many great-nieces and nephews. Donald is also survived by many colleagues and friends and his best friends Michael & Nancy Farrell. He was predeceased by his brother William Gulbicki; his step-brother Louis Alise Jr.; and his nephews Michael and Doug Libretti. Donald was born on July 19, 1953 in Newark New Jersey to the late Evalyn Gulbicki Alise (née Wierbowski) and Stephen “Peppy” Gulbicki. Donald attended St. Vincent Martyr School and St. Benedict’s Prep. He was a track and field athlete, achieving a long jump record that took decades to break. He was also a member of several winning St Benedict’s teams to capture the Penn Relays and was inducted into the Hall of Fame. He was so proud of being a swarming, stinging, buzzing Grey Bee. Donald attended William & Mary College for 2 years on a track scholarship before transferring to Fairleigh Dickenson University in Madison where he graduated at the top of his class with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Donald had a distinguished career at Prudential, rising to Vice President of Investment Operations and Systems. He spent 30 years leading technology groups, primarily in the investment businesses of PGIM. He spent many years as the head of Real Estate Technology in Parsippany but also worked in Roseland and Newark. Don was always known as a man of the people as he had an open door policy and mentored everyone from new hires to peers in other businesses. Don retired young but remained part of the Prudential family. Donald loved fishing, golfing, travel and a good Irish whiskey Manhattan. He loved to read and write and tell stories and laugh. But most of all he loved people. 2022 was the best year of his life – he reminisced with classmates at his 50th high school reunion; he celebrated his 45th wedding anniversary with the love of his life, Karen; and he indulged in a once in a lifetime beach vacation to celebrate his 69th birthday at Stone Harbor with his immediate family – two weeks of love and memories that we will all cherish. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend the visitation on Tuesday January 3, 2023 from 3:00PM to 7:00PM at the Madison Memorial Funeral Home, 159 Main Street, Madison. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at St. Vincent Martyr Church, 26 Green Village Road, Madison. The Mass may be attended virtually by visiting www.svmnj.org. Cremation will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested charitable contributions in Donald’s memory to be made to St Benedicts www.sbp.org/inmemory.

My Tribute Gift Foundation makes this online charitable giving portal web page MyTributeGift.org (the “Website”) available to you subject to your acceptance of and compliance with these terms of use (the “Terms of Use”). An official tax receipt for your donation will be issued by My Tribute Gift Foundation. Donations are sent out to charities at the end of each month for all donations received in that previous month. So a donation made on the first day of the month would be sent at the same time as one made on last day. Payments would be sent either by paper check or direct deposit. Please note that the there is 3% + 35¢/transaction fee for credit card processing, My Tribute Gift Foundation collects a 5% administrative fee. These fees help fund the cost of processing all donations, issuing tax receipts, and sending all appropriate information to the selected charity. These fees are assumed by your selected charity, but you will receive a receipt for the full amount of your donation. There are NO additional costs the charity has to endure to participate and accept donations through MyTributeGift.org. According to the American Institute for Philanthropy (charitywatch.org) a charitable organization is considered “Good” if they are spending less than 30% on administration and fundraising costs. My Tribute Gift Foundation helps reduce those administrative costs for charities and allows donors to contribute to lasting memorials for their loved ones.
When donating online, if the donation form has an option to add a tip, there is no convenience fee. The tip is optional and can be adjusted before you submit your donation. The amount of the tip will be displayed to you before you confirm the charge to your payment card. Tips are in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount that goes to the charitable organization. Under IRS and CRA rules, tips are not tax deductible to the donor.
You warrant and represent that all information and materials you provide to My Tribute Gift Foundation, through the Website or otherwise, are accurate and truthful and do not violate third party rights. Indemnity. YOU AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS THE FOUNDATION PARTIES FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, DEMANDS, ACTIONS, SUITS AND PROCEEDINGS BROUGHT BY YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY (COLLECTIVELY "CLAIMS") ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THIS SITE IN BREACH OF THESE TERMS OF USE OR THE INFRINGEMENT BY YOU OF ANY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS OF ANY PERSON OR ENTITY, INCLUDING ALL LOSSES, LIABILITIES, DAMAGES, COSTS AND EXPENSES (INCLUDING ALL LEGAL FEES) ARISING FROM SUCH CLAIMS.
If in any part of these Terms of Use is held, by a court of competent jurisdiction, to be invalid or unenforceable, such part of these Terms of Use shall be eliminated to the extent permitted in that jurisdiction, for purposes of that jurisdiction, and the remaining Terms of Use shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
These Terms of Use and your use of the Website are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and all federal laws of Canada applicable therein. The courts of the Province of Ontario shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of these Terms of Use or your use of the Website.
These Terms of Use constitute the entire agreement between you and My Tribute Gift Foundation with respect to the Website, except as we may explicitly agree otherwise in writing.. No delay or failure to exercise any right with respect to these Terms of Use shall be construed as a waiver by My Tribute Gift Foundation.
As a donor, you are responsible for researching the charity, understanding how your money will be used, and understanding the tax implications of your donation. We will email you a receipt, but the deductibility of your donation depends on your individual tax situation. We are not financial, tax, or legal experts. Please do not rely on our information to make decisions about your finances, taxes or legal matters. Consult a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.
Participating organizations have chosen to actively participate in the “Sponsor Program” to be represented in the Sponsor Charity array in an effort to increase their exposure and the opportunity for more memorial donations to be made to their organization. A rate structure is agreed upon and assessed on each donation processed through that program according to each organization’s individual agreement. Giving through that program has helped many organizations realize a drastic and significant increase in net donations.
If a donation form has a line item of Convenience Fee. The Convenience fee is displayed to you prior to approving the charge to your payment card. The convenience fee is in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount reaching the charitable organization. For example, a $100 donation becomes a $101.50 transaction. The convenience fee is directed immediately to a for-profit service provider. According to IRS and CRA rules the tax deductible receipt will therefore only be issued for the subtotal amount.
My Tribute Gift Foundation seeks to distribute all funds to organizations provided they have maintained active 501c3 certification in the United States or registered charity status in Canada. MTG relies on the beneficiary organizations to maintain and keep up to date contact information on file with the IRS or CRA respectively. This must be done in order for My Tribute Gift Foundation to exercise care and reasonable efforts to distribute payment promptly, without undue cost and burden to the foundation. In the event that a payment has not been deposited 12 months from issuance, the foundation reserves the right to utilize those funds in its mission to the foundation.
My Tribute Gift Foundation reserves the right to modify, change, discontinue and suspend these Terms of Use, the Website, and/or any services offered through the Website, in whole or in part, at any time, without prior notice to you. Your continued access or use of the Website after modifications to these Terms of Use have been posted on the Website shall indicate your acceptance of and agreement to be bound by these Terms of Use as modified. It is your responsibility to review these Terms of Use regularly.
