Obituary of Nancy M. Chiarolanzio

Nancy M. Chiarolanzio (nee De Sena), a lifelong Madison resident, passed away peacefully at Morristown Medical Center on Saturday, January 13, 2018, surrounded by her beloved children. She was 87.

Nancy leaves behind her son, Thomas Chiarolanzio and his wife Susan; her three daughters, Joann Napolitano and her husband Louis, Patricia Gatti and her husband Phil, and Shirley Chiarolanzio; one brother, Paul De Sena; one sister; Tina Chiarolanzio; 6 cherished grandchildren, Lori Jewell, Stephanie Nejia, Danielle Morro, Philip Gatti, Alexander Chiarolanzio & Madelyne Chiarolanzio; seven great-grandchildren; and many dear friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Nunzio Chiarolanzio in 1999, her beloved brother just days before her passing, Thomas De Sena, her brother, Anthony De Sena, and niece, Linda Barrett. 

Nancy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who cherished her family tremendously. Her life was dedicated to her family and she was especially proud of her grandchildren, never missing a chance to attend one of their sporting events. She was a volunteer with the Madison Ambulance Corps for many years and she also enjoyed working part-time for a number of years at the Hickory Tree Deli in Chatham, with the proprietors, her daughter and son-in-law.

Later in her life, Nancy traveled extensively. She enjoyed trips to Greece, Europe and Hawaii. Nancy was also a fan of the Yankees and taking trips to Atlantic City with friends.

Funeral services will begin at 9:00AM on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at the Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main Street, Madison, followed by a 10:00AM Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Vincent Martyr RC Church, Madison. Interment will follow at St. Vincent's Cemetery, Madison. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to celebrate Nancy's life from 4:00PM to 8:00PM on Monday at the funeral home.
