Jerry "Gennaro" Troianello, 62, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Morristown Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Summit, he was a longtime resident of Madison before moving to Whippany in 1994. Jerry earned his Bachelor's degree from Montclair State University and his Master's from University of Houston. He was an Exxon Mobil executive for more than 30 years holding many positions in Texas and New Jersey, retiring as a Business Analyst in Clinton NJ in 2014. Jerry was a parishioner of St. Vincent Martyr Parish, Madison, an avid golfer, skier, gardener, winemaker and a member of the North Stars Club of Madison. Above all, Jerry was a family man who valued sharing time and good food with family and friends, loved his Italian heritage, travel to Italy and continuing and teaching tradition to future generations.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony "Ajay" and Pauline (Allocco) Troianello. Survivors include his loving wife, Christine (nee Zwygers) Troianello; two sisters, Geraldine Salerno and her husband Andy, and Gail Bartz and her husband Ronny all of Madison; his in-laws, John and Fenny Zwygers, Jim and Katie Zwygers, Gary Zwygers and Gwen Battler all of Ontario Canada and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews in both countries.
Relatives and friends are invited to call Sunday, Sept. 25, 1-4 & 7-9pm at Madison Memorial Home, 159 Main St., Madison. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, Sept. 26, 9:30am at St. Theresa of Avila R.C. Church, Summit. Interment will follow at St. Vincent's Cemetery, Madison.
